THE BASICS:
- Score: MIT 27, Dean College 0

- The Lead: In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, MIT built a 20-0 lead at the half and rode a 336-yard rushing attack to a 27-0 road shutout of Dean College on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- MIT got on the board midway through the first with a 35-yard goal from graduate student Mark Wright (Fort Worth, Texas) for the 3-0 edge. The Engineers added to the lead late in the quarter as junior Jay Theriault (Boxford, Mass.) scored on a five-yard TD rush off the left side for a 10-0 lead that capped a five-play, 39-yard drive.
- With 11:50 left in the second, a pass interference penalty gave the Engineers the ball at the five and sophomore Brady Klein (Washington, Ill.) took it up the middle to increase the MIT lead to 17-0. Wright closed out the first-half scoring with 3:34 remaining with his second field goal of the contest as he knocked a 31-yarder through for the 20-0 margin.
- At the 5:46 mark of the third quarter, junior Ashton Robinson (Louisville, Ky.) took it up the middle on a second and goal play and scored from one yard out to make it a 27-0 score as the Engineers controlled the running game throughout and closed out the scoring.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior George Stultz (Frederick, Md.) led the Engineers with 117 yards rushing on 18 attempts, while Klein finished just shy of the mark with 95 yards on 10 rushes. Thanks to the rushing attack, it was a quiet day in the air for MIT as graduate student Chris Mauck (Wellington, Fla.) completed seven passes for 64 yards, including four to senior Ben Dwyer (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) for 36 yards.
- For Curry, David Curry was 14-for-27 for 157 yards and two interceptions while Errol Breaux had six of those receptions for 109 yards.
- Defensively, senior Paul Calvetti (Ridgewood, N.J.) led the team with seven tackles and one pass breakup, while Desmond Dias was one of three Bulldogs in double-figure tackles with 13 stops and two tackles for loss.
- Overall, MIT outgained the Bulldogs by a 400-224 yard margin and forced three Dean turnovers.

- The Engineers are back in action on Saturday, October 2nd as the team travels to Catholic University in Washington, D.C. for a 1 p.m. start in the NEWMAC opener.
