Jordan Roberts rolled up 230 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries and outdueled St. John's All-American running back Sam Sura as the No. 12 Tommies defeated the No. 8 Johnnies 35-14. The St. Thomas defense held Sam Sura to 74 yards on 25 carries and kept St. John's to just 45 yards on the ground overall.

The Tommies' win snapped a two-game losing streak for St. Thomas in the rivalry game, and marked the fourth consecutive season that the road team went home the victor. The game was played in front of 17,327 fans, the largest recorded attendance in Division III football history. Joe Callahan hit James Okike for a touchdown with 7.5 seconds left and then found Xavier Allen in the end zone for the two-point conversion and No. 5 Wesley rallied to escape with a 50-49 win at No. 22 North Central. Callahan threw for three touchdowns and ran for three more, but it was the two-point conversion which sealed it for the Wolverines, coming at the end of a 94-yard drive in the final two minutes. Callahan rolled out left as if he were going to run it in, then pulled up and floated a pass into the end zone for Allen. Callahan finished with 111 yards on the ground, while Jamar Baynard had 141 yards and a touchdown to lead the way for Wesley. Photo gallery.
Brian Parks intercepted three passes, returning one of them for a touchdown as No. 9 Wabash rolled over No. 15 Wittenberg 42-14 on Saturday. Connor Rice threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns for Wabash and the Little Giants defense picked off Zack Jenkins four times. The win snapped Wittenberg's 23-game conference winning streak. "When you lose and you feel like you played your tail off and the other team just beat you it sucks but it's a little easier to get past," said Wabash coach Erik Raeburn. "But when you feel like you just gave the game away and didn't play your best and lose, it's really tough to swallow. If we played great today and we lost it would be painful but not as bad as it was last year when we just felt like we squandered so many opportunities."
Chandler Carroll ran for a school-record 311 yards and three touchdowns as the University of Chicago made its presence known in the Southern Athletic Association with a 49-30 win over No. 21 Centre. Steven Ferreira threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, including the game-winniner in overtime, as No. 25 Cortland State defeated Utica in overtime 47-40 in its first week back in the Top 25. There were five lead changes in the game, which seems to be proving typical of the new-look Empire 8.
Russ Forchion caught a 92-yard touchdown pass with 12:18 to play in the fourth quarter and No. 16 Rowan made it hold up as the Profs rallied to beat Montclair State 13-7. The Red Hawks held Withler Marcelin to 28 carries for 77 yards, and aside from the Forchion TD, the Profs had just 129 yards of total offense.
No. 13 Thomas More had little trouble with Westminster (Pa.), rolling out to a 45-0 lead before the Titans scored twice in the final minutes for a 45-14 margin. The Saints defense picked off Westminster four times, including one which Ian Gunn returned for a touchdown.
Arin Pruitt ran for a game-high 114 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries as No. 10 John Carroll edged crosstown rival Baldwin Wallace 17-14 in front of 5,750 fans. With its win, JCU takes a 26-25-4 all-time lead in the series and a 14-13 advantage in the Gold Bowl series.
No. 11 Johns Hopkins trailed 28-21 in the third quarter, but rattled off the final 28 points of the game to put Muhlenberg away, 49-28. The Blue Jays overcame 333 passing yards and 77 rushing from the Mules' Nick Palladino.
