Jake DelVento ended a 10-play drive with a 32-yard field goal with 1:16 remaining in the game as No. 11 Montclair State defeated No. 15 Cortland State 34-33. The Red Dragons had taken a 33-31 lead on a safety with 4:56 remaining.

Montclair remained tied for first in the NJAC with Kean, as Kean defeated Buffalo State 34-27. For DelVento, it was redemption for last season, when his potential game-winning kick against Cortland went wide left.

Kean scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally past Buffalo State. Chris DiMicco scored on an 18-yard touchdown run with 2:27 left after the Cougars' Brett Yajcaji picked off a Bengals' pass at the 21.

Augsburg had its game with No. 3 St. Thomas in doubt until the final five minutes as the Tommies won 17-0. (Photo gallery) The Auggies, who lost for the first time to fall to 4-1, had a pass intercepted in the red zone and then missed on fourth down from the 9 in the fourth quarter trailing by 10 before Dakota Tracy busted loose with a 50-yard scamper up the left sidelines for the final margin. Colin Tobin ran for 155 yards and Tracy added 124 more. Tyler Maxwell (114 yards) rushed for 100 yards for the third time in his four-game career at Augsburg.

Wittenberg lost for the first time in 26 regular season games, falling 38-20 at Huntingdon. The Hawks are now 5-1 on the season, with the sole loss to unbeaten Birmingham-Southern.

No. 16 Delaware Valley scored the first 14 points of the game and nothing more, but it was enough to hold off Wilkes 14-6. Aggies safety Ryan McCullough intercepted Wilkes quarterback Tyler Bernstein in the end zone to stop one fourth-quarter Colonels drive. Amadeus Hall stopped another by tackling Zach Tivald 1 yard shy of a first down inside Delaware Valley's red zone.

No. 20 Wartburg forced a four-way tie for the top spot in the IIAC as Connor Dahlstrom rolled up 225 yards on 24 carries in a 42-39 win against Dubuque. The win overshadowed an 18-catch, 259-yard night for Dubuque's Michael Zweifel. Dubuque had given up a long touchdown run to fall down by 11 late in the game but scored quickly, forced a three-and-out and had a drive snuffed at midfield when the clock ran out.

Top-ranked UW-Whitewater won its 35th consecutive game, winning 42-10 at UW-River Falls behind Matt Blanchard's 277 passing yards, with eight catches for 156 yards by Tyler Huber. Homecoming was a cheery one at No. 2 Mount Union as the Purple Raiders rolled past Marietta 62-0. Ninth-ranked Bethel had two late scores to beat St. John's 41-20. The Johnnies are 2-4. Salisbury rolled up 564 yards of total offense, including 188 yards and three touchdowns through the air as the No. 22 Sea Gulls defeated Springfield 65-23.

No. 12 Wabash missed the playoffs last year almost certainly because of its loss to Washington U., and the Little Giants made sure that wouldn't repeat itself, defeating the Bears 24-3 behind another Wes Chamblee punt return for a touchdown and seven catches for 119 yards and a touchdown from Jonathan Horn. No. 19 Wheaton bounced back from last week's loss and bent but didn't break in beating Elmhurst 49-21. The Thunder rolled up 553 yards of total offense and gave up 496.

Rob Kues threw four touchdown passes to lead No. 8 Thomas More past Grove City 37-7. No. 23 Alfred needed overtime and a 29-yard Eric Rockwood field goal to get past Hartwick 32-29.
